What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis to assist an individual to achieve beneficial changes, usually in response to an emotional problem or to help  the individual achieve a desired goal (e.g. stop smoking, relaxation, confidence etc). It is always recommended that the use of hypnosis for this purpose is carried out by a fully trained and qualified therapist.

There are many misconceptions of what hypnotherapy is, what it can do, and how you will react if you are in a hypnotic state and these are explained fully by clicking on 'The Experience' button above. Most peoples exposure of hypnosis will be via the television and therefore expect to be placed under the control of the hypnotist and to be made to do things that they would not be aware of. This is far from the case though as you may find by clicking on the 'The Experience' or 'What Is It' buttons above.
