Circles

What Is A Development Circle?

A Development Circle is typically a group of people that meet to practise and develop their spiritual and psychic abilities, either on a regular or casual basis. It is the most effective way of discovering and improving your abilities, where regular attendance will reap the greatest rewards. The greater commitment given, the more you get back. You can find out more about what circles are available in your area from either a spiritualist church or development centre.

A good circle will normally meet every week and each session will last for approximately 2 hours.

Types of Circle

There are 2 main types of Development Circles, ‘Open’ Circles and ‘Closed’ Circles.

An ‘Open’ Circle is one that is available to all comers and will meet on an irregular, or regular basis. It is an excellent way to find out more about yourself and what spiritual development is all about and will often lead you towards finding a Closed Circle to join. An example of these are the Monthly Development Mornings I hold at Maidstone and Chatham.

A ‘Closed’ Circle is one that meets weekly and is restricted to the agreed members of the circle and will have the same attendees who meet each week. Joining a closed circle requires a great deal of commitment but is also the most rewarding way of developing yourself.

Other types of Circle include :

Physical  - For development of Physical Mediumship (e.g. trance, transfiguration, Direct Voice etc
Healing  - Sending out remote healing
Rescue  - Helping spirit who are 'Earthbound' move over to the light

These circles are specialist however, and for the experienced only. They are also few and far between so it may take some time to find a good one.

Running A Circle

Running a good circle requires a great deal of dedication and is not something to be taken lightly. It is always best to have an experienced medium as a circle leader, one who can validate and confirm any spirit contact and information received. They will also be responsible for managing the session and devising the exercises for the group.
